Maren Finzer has packaged all of her life experiences, education, passions and strengths together to focus on helping high-achieving, passionate entrepreneurs to stand out to be the only choice in the minds of their target audience.
The real story
Maren's creativity, pursuit of excellence, and enthusiastic entrepreneurial spirit began as a young girl, being born to, and strongly influenced by, two passionate business-minded parents.
Driven at a young age
From the back room of their house, Maren’s mother ran a creative writing and publishing company, and made Maren a part of it very early on. She'll never forget the feeling of accomplishment she had the first time she was allowed, and even paid, to run the mimeograph machine. It was the final printing of one of her own stories, and she must have been all of 10 years old!
Integrating family and business
Integrating the family and business was also important to Maren's father. He was an early pioneer of international banking. Traveling the world for US Bank, he managed the financing of all the imports and exports for Oregon business. It was the norm for him to bring his international clients home for an all-American dinner when they were in town. Maren vividly remembers entertaining and engaging them in dinner conversation the best she could, despite the language barrier.
Always striving for the best
Maren graduated from high school in Portland, Oregon, and believes one of the most impacting portions of her formative years came from her job at Mario's, a high-end clothing store where she worked every free moment she had. This is where Maren really learned to communicate and sell by listening first, and Mario himself taught her to “never, never, settle.” That value has stuck with her to this day. After that, she studied marketing and advertising and graduated with a BS from Arizona State University. She freelanced to earn extra income by creating ads for small businesses and worked at the Arizona Athletic Club.
Idea generation and infectious enthusiasm
Maren's enthusiasm for active and healthy lifestyles led her back to the Pacific Northwest to her first jobs out of college at Lloyd Athletic Club, followed by Seattle Athletic Club. She worked in several facets, but especially loved the creative aspects of designing innovative and engaging programs, as well as the challenges of being Marketing Director where her team consistently met or exceeded their sales goals.
Competitive, entrepreneurial spirit never wanes
The inbred entrepreneurial bug bit again, and Maren had to go back to her true bliss. She left the corporate world and along with raising her family, she started a Japanese skincare business from home, Noevir. With hard work she quickly met with success. Speaking, training, and designing compelling presentations for large groups was Maren's forte, and she loved it. It was a competitive business, but she embraced the challenge and put together campaigns in original and imaginative ways to make her stand apart.
Wildly creative
Maren needed a new creative challenge to add to the mix, so she stepped out and built a commercial holiday decorating business partnering with another creative colleague. Maren uncorked her creative spirit and selectively topped out their client base by adding holiday sparkle to many downtown lobbies, banks, restaurants and hotels for almost 18 years. They heard lots of “oooohs and aaaahs“ but, “You get paid for that?” became the most popular comment they heard from those passing by.
Passionate about personal branding
The owner of a construction company came to Maren recently, and asked if she could help him. He had a thriving business for 26 years, but in this current economic downturn his phone had stopped ringing. Maren and her team accepted the challenge, and designed a fresh, new marketing strategy with a focus on personal branding. Within one month of implementation, the company received their largest project ever: it was 7.5 times larger than any in their company history! Personal branding works!
Being an avid learner and discoverer, Maren complemented her Marketing Degree with a Certificate of Marketing Management from University of Washington, earned an Inbound Marketing Certification with Hubspot, and became certified as a REACH™ Personal Brand Strategist. She continued on in a rigorous program and recently earned a Master's Certification, the highest level of personal branding certifications offered by Reach. Maren lives and is active in the heart of Seattle, always makes time to be inspired and to be creative, stays involved in her church, loves people, and is passionate about health and good, fresh, local food.
